random, random fics i like.
i love a weird pairing well-done. for instance:
--ferris/cameron from "ferris bueller's day off
--mozart/salieri from "amadeus" --zim/dib from "invader zim" --reuven/danny from "the chosen" and "the promise" --v/evey from "v for vendetta"
...and a whole random bunch more. meanwhile, if you know any fics of these pairings -- and provided you aren't my sworn enemy and don't want me to read them -- send 'em my way @ iceds12@yahoo.com, and i shall love you forevermore.

Fortune and Favor by Firesignwriter
firesignwriter is the best PotC authah out there (dylan says seriously). and this is the first fic i read by her, and it's so bloody good (and i don't even like gen). the characterization is beautiful. it's full of captain jack sparrow, and i can never resist a jack well done, but it wouldn't be the beauty it is without this paticular anamaria. and oh god, norrington. don't get me started. i blame firesignwriter entirely for my love of that man. god.
this is just damn good, is all. fresh and real, and it does one of the things that so many fic writers forget to do, so it must be difficult...it takes the material seriously.

Daphne's Choice: A Study in Secondary Sympathy by Eve
Niles/Daphne
this one will be of interest to exactly zero people, but oh well. frasier was the first fan fiction i ever read, back in the day when it still wasn't clear whether niles crane would win over his manchester goddess, one daphne moon. the internet, or at least the frasier part, was brimming with niles/daphne fic. due to the intelligent viewership 'frasier' always seemed to attract, many of its fic writers were very talented.
eve was the best; in fact, she is one of the most skilled authors i have read in any fandom. and "daphne's choice" is one of her most lovely. it's so nice to come back to, even after all the intervening years. it's sweet, and it so exactly captures that certain bittersweet, witty something that made 'frasier' and its characters, at their best, so worth rooting for.
